Tenor Jung Soo Yun will perform with the Hertford Symphony Orchestra

CELEBRATE the London 2012 Olympic Games with the Hertford Symphony Orchestra at a gala concert in the county town this afternoon (Sunday).
With an Olympic theme, the Musical Olympiad programme at the Hertford Theatre on Sunday at 3.30pm will include Olympic anthems by John Williams and Ravel?s Bolero, which accompanied the medal-winning performance by skaters Torvill and Dean.
The concert will also feature the theme music from Chariots of Fire. The orchestra will be joined by soprano Katie Lowe and South Korean tenor Jung Soo Yun in a performance of much-loved arias, including Nessun Dorma and music from Puccini?s La Boheme.
The celebrations will end with a rousing performance of Pomp and Circumstance and Jerusalem, with plenty of opportunity for flag waving.
Tickets cost ?12 adults, ?6 children and ?30 family ticket.
* Olympic gold medallist Harold Abrahams, who inspired Chariots of Fire, lived in Great Amwell and is buried at St John The Baptist Church, Great Amwell, which is set to open its doors to visitors today as part of Open Church Sunday.
